Canterbury Summer Swiss
What a great turnout to the Canterbury Summer Swiss – one of the biggest weekenders of the year! It is a credit to the BHCC and Canterbury (with lots of junors playing). A great mix of experience and newbies with 9 players rated over 2000 and 9 players rated under 500! As always plenty of good ratings prizes give lots of opportunities for everyone to share in the $1500 prize fund.
Pairings and results (and live games when the DGT boards work) are being kept updated very promptly at the Box Hill Chess Club website. It is easy to see how Box Hill has become the best club in Australia with reporting like this.
The excitement from the first day was the second round loss by the top seed, Sam Chow. To view the annotated game
